Our Yoga Workshops

For your convenience, we offer 4 great therapeutically focused workshops on a monthly rotation, every Saturday from 12:00-2:00pm.

If you happen to miss a workshop, or would like to repeat one to work deeper, you’ll always know when the next one will be.

Neck and Shoulder Relief

Our neck and shoulders are constantly being thrown out of balance due to the demands of our computer driven life and work. This workshop is recommended for students interested in creating more balance in their bodies and specifically seeking relief in the upper spine and shoulders. This workshop will be led by LizziDee Levin, certified yoga therapist and is based in the therapeutic, alignment focused Iyengar Method. In it, we will identify postural habits and muscular imbalances that can either cause or aggravate existing injuries and conditions. Participants will learn how to perform yoga postures that correct posture and address common imbalances, reducing pain and preventing future injury. Individuals with injuries, arthritis, or other limitations as well as those just experiencing occasional discomfort will benefit from this practice. No prior yoga experience required.
This workshop will incorporate the Great Yoga Wall system as well as dowel rods. Dowels will be available to borrow or purchase ($10) or bring your own (1.5 in. diameter, 3-4 ft long) to continue working with at home.

Yoga for Healthy Knees

We demand a lot of our knees, the most complex and largest of joints in the human body, and that wear and tear catches up with us. Knee pain is the second most common type of chronic pain and it can get in the way of our enjoyment of simple activities. In this workshop, we’ll explore alignment principles for keeping the knee safe in commonly practiced yoga poses, identify common poses that can aggravate the knee joint and explore how to make each pose safer, also determining when it’s better to practice a modification instead. In addition, we’ll explore how we can use yoga postures to safely stretch and strengthen the muscle groups that directly impact the knee when they’re overly tight or weak, creating better muscular balance.

Lower Back Relief

Our lower backs take a beating! We demand a lot of our lower back and that wear and tear can easily catch up with us. Lower back pain is the most common type of chronic pain and it can disrupt our enjoyment of even simple activities. This workshop is recommended for students interested in creating more balance in their bodies and specifically seeking to decompress and heal issues in the lower spine.
This workshop will be led by LizziDee Levin, certified yoga therapist and is based in the therapeutic, alignment focused Iyengar Method. In it, we will identify postural habits and muscular imbalances that can either cause or aggravate existing injury to the spine. Participants will learn how to perform yoga postures that correct posture and address common imbalances, reducing pain and preventing future injury.
This workshop is appropriate for students with a range of spinal conditions and injuries or for those simply experiencing occasional musculo-skeletal pain. No prior yoga experience is required.

Spinal Rejuvenation

During this Wall-focused workshop we will explore the full range of motion of the spine; flexion, extension, lateral flexion and rotation. The sequence combines inversion, distraction and rotation of the spine that, when done regularly, can take years off the age of the spine.

The particular order and repetition of the postures you will learn, progressively stimulates and strengthens core and postural muscles while distracting the spine, allowing blood and nutrients into this typically congested region. We will utilize The Great Yoga Wall to help maximize the experience.

Use it as a stand-alone practice or introduce it into your already existing yoga routine and gain lasting beneficial changes to your body and mind. Pre-registration required.
